From 10 June 2025, the National Register of Blood Donors and Blood Components will start operating in the Czech Republic. It may sound a bit official, but don’t worry: for you as a donor, basically nothing changes.
Simply put, it is a central database that connects all sampling points in the country. Whether you donate blood, plasma or other components, everything is clearly recorded in one place. Thanks to the register, it will automatically monitor that there is a sufficient time gap between individual samples.
Remind yourself of the individual intervals for blood plasma donation:
- You can donate plasma every 14 days.
- After donating blood, you can donate plasma in 4 weeks.
The register is non-public and only authorized persons and medical facilities have access to it. Your personal data is as safe as possible, protected according to the strictest rules and standards.
Nothing changes for our donors. Those who come to us regularly can continue to donate as before – every 14 days. The whole system will just be a little smarter and we will have a better overview of when you were last sampled to make sure that everything is as safe and gentle as possible. Your health is extremely important to us.
